Miramar
The City of Miramar - the fastest growing city in Broward County and one of the fastest in the country, has experienced tremendous economic growth and development over the past several years. Miramar has become home to more Fortune 500 companies in recent years than any other city in South Florida. In addition, the City's small and medium range business startups and expansions continue to flourish at a rapid pace.
Construction of a vibrant new Town Center in the geographic center of the City is underway. The 54-acre mixed use project already houses a new City Hall and administrative building, with groundbreaking imminent for a new Cultural Arts Center, and a three-story Community Library-Education Complex. The Complex will include a Broward County Public Library, and Nova-Southeastern University (NSU) and Broward College (BC) educational centers. The Town Center is also programmed to contain retail, office and residential components. All of these uses are located in a picturesque pedestrian-friendly setting with waterfront views.
Also included within Miramar’s city limits are DeVry University, University of Phoenix and Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts College as well as 10 elementary schools, two middle schools, three high schools and 968 acres of regional and local parks and open spaces.
Incorporated in May of 1955, the City had a population of less than two hundred people. Today it is Broward County’s fifth largest city with a population totaling over 110,000.
